Composer and oud master Wisam Gibran discovers more new possibilities, with original playing techniques and with a bow specially adapted to his oud. In his poetic playing, Gibran proves that the oud is a universal instrument. He explores the space between sound and silence and between the touch of the bow and the oud strings. Gibran, a former student of contemporary composer Alfred Schnittke, claims that the 21st century is the century of hybridity, of exchange of views, of migration and of a “third space,” which eliminates the distinction between East and West. All that remains is migration, endless migration.
