One text passes like a thread between the generations that sing about love in Hebrew: the Song of Songs. The much acclaimed composer, musician and vocalist Shem Tov Levy composed original music for the Song of Songs that contains elements from diverse musical worlds and presents the first Hebrew song of love between a man and a woman and between the people of Israel and their God. Levy, who created the performance in the framework of the 2022 Oud Festival, presents it again this year, breathing new musical life into the ancient biblical text which, according to tradition, was written by King Solomon. Alongside Levy, Micha Shitrit and Maayan Linik, the Shem Tov Levy Ensemble and the Kol Dodi Ensemble of the Rimon School of Music, directed by Avner Kenner, participate in the performance.
