The House of Metuko

The story of Metuko Maleso, an ordinary guy, who wanted to keep his promise to his late mother and marry his beautiful fiancee. To his horror, Metuko discovers that his house has suddenly disappeared, with his fiancee inside.

Metuko does not despair. He puts his faith in the authorities, writes letters and travels the length and breadth of Israel in search of his house, his fiancee, and the promises of an official called Ziv. At every turn in his journey through Israel Metuko sees unpleasant scenes, but nothing stops the good-natured fellow, who continues to write letters and more letters?

A surrealistic play full of longing, songs, music, clowning and physical theater in the finest tradition of the Ethiopian-Israeli Hullegeb ensemble.
